Benefits of
Vehicle Wrapping & Vinyl Film Removal
Prepare the Work Area
Work in a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors, to avoid inhaling fumes from the heating process.
Heat the Vinyl
Begin by using a heat gun or a hairdryer with a heat gun attachment. The heat softens the adhesive, making it easier to peel off. Keep the heat source moving to avoid overheating and damaging the paint.
Peel Off the Vinyl
Once the vinyl is heated, carefully, slowly, and steadily peel back the vinyl film. Pulling too hard or fast can damage the underlying paint.
Remove Residue
After the vinyl film is removed, you will be left with adhesive residue on the vehicle’s surface. Adhesive remover is used to remove residue by following manufacturers instructions.
Clean the Surface
Once the adhesive residue is gone, clean the entire surface with a mixture of warm water and soap or a dedicated vinyl cleaner.
Final Clean-Up
Ensure the surface is free of any remaining adhesive or contaminants by wiping it down with rubbing alcohol or isopropyl alcohol.
Inspect for Damage
After cleaning, inspect the vehicle’s paint for any damage that may have occurred during the vinyl film removal process. Minor scuffs or scratches can often be polished out, but more severe damage may require professional repair.
